  • Headgears do work but the biggest problem is PATIENT COOPERATION. A comical saying in orthodontics is "Yes, I use a headgear but my patients don't!!"
  • You see, if there are better alternatives that REQUIRE NO PATIENT COOPERATION, why not use them? Why fight with the patients or accept mediocre treatment?
  • Sure, you can "beat up" on patients to make them wear a headgear, but why? There are alternatives!
Alternatives Include:
  • No treatment
  • Treatment timing (start at the right time)
  • Functional appliances
  • Extractions
  • Do the best possible and accept some undercorrection
  • Surgery
